Cyndee Crompton

President, Owner & Lead Occupational Therapist OTR/L, SCDCM, SCLV, CDRS

Cyndee Crompton is the president, owner, and lead therapist of DRS. Cyndee attended undergraduate school at North Park College in Chicago and received degrees in mathematics and psycho-biology. She obtained her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. After completing her internships in Seattle, Hawaii, and Washington DC, she began her career as a therapist in an acute care setting in Honolulu, HI. She then relocated to Greensboro, NC where she began a driving program at Moses Cone Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. She was also the team leader for the outpatient neurology-based therapy team, responsible for program development, personnel growth and retention. Cyndee started Driver Rehabilitation Services, P.A., an independently owned business, in August 1997, in order to work full-time in the area of driver rehabilitation. “CDRSCyndee is a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS), A Certified Driving Instructor (CDI) and holds Specialty Certifications from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)in Driving and Community Mobility (SCDCM) and Low Vision (SCLV). She has a post professional Certification in Low Vision Rehabilitation from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She maintains membership in the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and is often a presenter at the annual national conference. Cyndee also enjoys lecturing at North Carolina Universities to occupational therapy students and speaking to local special interest groups. Cyndee conducts driver rehabilitation services including prescriptions for driver training and vehicle modifications. She oversees all aspects of a client’s driver rehabilitation process from beginning to completion.

Caroline Brooks

Occupational Therapist

Caroline Brooks works as an occupational therapist and holds state certification as driving instructor. She conducts driver evaluations and provides behind the wheel training to individuals with physical, cognitive, behavioral, and/or visual impairments. Caroline obtained her undergraduate degree at East Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation services and a minor in psychology. She then worked as a habilitation technician for 1 year before obtaining her Master’s of Science degree in occupational therapy from Winston Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC. She worked as a school-based occupational therapist, where she was responsible for providing evaluative, consultative, and evidence-based interventions to individuals with diagnosis including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder. Prior to joining the DRS team, she was employed as an OT for a national driver’s research study under the DOT and NHTSA, implementing visual scanning interventions to older adult participants. Caroline has been a member of our team since November 2019.

Sara Huntz

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Sara is employed with Driver Rehabilitation Services as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and State Certified Driving Instructor. Sara is a Navy Veteran who served for thirteen years as a Hospital Corpsman. She supported her husband, raising her three sons while moving every three years until his military retirement. With each new duty station she had opportunities to work in a variety of jobs within the medical field or serving people. She worked as a Medical Assistant at a Rehabilitation Hospital, an Event Coordinator for the March of Dimes, a Registrar at Central Texas College, an Office Manager for Mid Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute and as an Administrative Assistant for Transtec Inc., a Department of Defense contractor for the military. She obtained her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, VA in 2011. She practiced occupational therapy in acute care, outpatient, inpatient and skilled nursing settings in Virginia and acute care in Honolulu, HI before moving to North Carolina. Sara has been a member of our team since April 2018. She enjoys the opportunity to help clients gain or regain the independence driving brings to their life. She is a member of American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (NCOTA) and the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED).

Chantel Burdick

Office Manager

Chantel Burdick serves as the Office Manager for DRS and oversees administrative processes including communicating with referral sources, managing client intake, scheduling services, and disseminating reports. Chantel holds a Bachelor of Science from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Prior to her work with DRS, she has varied professional managerial experiences including over 20 years of customer service in the hospitality industry and coordinating various types of meetings and events.

Lacey Campbell

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Lacey Campbell works as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and holds state certification as a driver instructor. She maintained a workload of 20 plus hours while attending Durham Technical Community College to obtain her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree in 2020. Prior to this, she held supervisory roles at Sheetz, Beall’s Outlet Stores, and Food Lion. She has lived in Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. Lacey provides behind the wheel training to our clients after an evaluation has been completed by the Occupational Therapist. Lacey obtained her Associates of science degree in in 2020 and has been a member of the DRS team since October 2020. She enjoys being able to help individuals gain or regain the ability to access their community whether it be for life's everyday tasks or for leisure. Lacey looks forward to helping you or your loved drive independently and safely.
